I am humbled by the sheer classiness of Cloudland. Perhaps,i hear you say, my judgement was impaired. Did you know that talking to a beautiful woman will decrease your IQ by up to 20 points?
To which I reply that I am sure that I had my wits about me.
Jamon serrano with figs, goats cheese, apple reduction
Beef carpaccio
Saltimbocca chicken with a white polenta cake and more figs and a sticky Madeira jus
Gnocchi, as light as cotton balls, with blue cheese and spinach
Washed down with a 2008 -- pinot noir. An unusual pinot with heavy wood which left a real tingle on the tongue as it dissipated.

Hong Kong Kitchen and Bolognese
Cooked up a huge pot of bolognese while mum was staying with me. There's a ton of it in the freezer still. Tim gave me a little tip - a good hit of nutmeg in the bolognese really sets it off, particularly if you don't use red wine.
I finally got around to buying a 4L box of Morris Pressings dry red. This is an excellent table and cooking wine with light tannins and a good mouth feel.
Ish and I ate at the Hong Kong kitchen tonight. They do a really good steamed dimsim and the salt and pepper squid was good. The fish was flavourless, though. Definitely gonna steer clear of the seafood in Ipswich.
